Week 54

Well breaking news I have officially been transfered, I am now in the providence of Tucumàn Argentina. My new area is called Universitario, and just like it sounds its basically a university complex should be pretty interesting. My new comp is Elder Tyler Threet! This guy is super great I can already tell were going to be great friends.(I would have taken a pic with him but my cameras dead.... 😓   )

Well I can´t believe how fast 6 months went in Jujuy. I already miss the people there a ton. We spent most of this week in conferences so we didn´t have very much time to work but in the end Elena was baptized! It is always so amazing to see people making covenants and starting their journey as representatives of Jesus Christ.

Sorry don´t have much time with transfers and everything but I know that Christ lives and that this is his work and he directs every aspect of it. That if we live the Gospel god will bless us and we will be able to return and live with him again.

Ps. My best friend Hailee Hertz is having problems with her hip and sadly has to return home. Please keep her in your prayers.

Look what the Catacata family made me,
it says "Elder Starkey we love you a lot!"

Week 53

The weeks go faster and faster all the time. We had another week of straight rain! haha its always a nice break from the normal killer sun.

Elder Solorzano and I have been working hard this week and we are being really blessed. We are finding lots of new people and amazing people that are ready to hear the gospel here in Jujuy!

Everyone always talks about the mission as a chance to change peoples lives, but honestly I feel a lot more blessed for all the people I have gotten to know and have really changed my life. I am so grateful for all the great people in my life that are changing me. For all the members here in Argentina, for cool other missionaries, for my amazing companions, and for the Savior.

As you know we have been working a lot lately with Elena, one of our investigators. She came up to us this week and told us that she had received an answer and that she is ready to be baptized! I know that God knows his children, and that he knows when every one of them is ready to receive the gospel. I know that it doesn't matter where we are in life or who we are, because the Lord can start right now to make us the people that we need to be.

Week 52

This week it has been raining a ton everyday. So yeah we got soaked a couple of times this week but thats all part of the fun of being a missionary right?

We are still working a ton with our investigators Mikaela and Elena. They are super awesome and want to be baptized but are still working with a couple doubts that they have.

All is well and the work is moving forward here in Argentina.

Week 51

Happy New Year everybody!

This week has been a little dry here. With all the holidays its pretty hard to enter the houses here and the people who arent members have all been drinking... a lot! haha. But all in all its been a good week.

We are working a lot with two of our investigators Elena and Micaela. They are super cool! Actually their whole family is super cool. The rest of their family recently got baptized and they decided that it wasn´t their time yet. This past week they have been reading and praying everyday and I know they are going to be ready, they have a baptismal date set for 16 of January.

I love being here in Argentina, I really feel more and more desires everyday to work harder, be more obedient, and help everybody. Im so grateful for my heavenly father that loves me enough to let someone as imperfect as me be serving his children.

I´m so excited for this new year. I hope that we all can put goals personally and in our families to make this year the best yet.

Love you guys tons! thanks for all the love and support. Remember to give references to the missionaries and to put family goals for this new year.
